Professor Akaki Ghvaladze consecrates his life and devotes his efforts to the winning of prestigious scientific award and a bronze statuette. His dream comes true but soon vanishes. The professor’s colleagues pull out all the stops to get hold of the award, while the needy scientist’s family evaluates the award solely by the tariff of the scrap metal reception centre.
