The hero - Anthimus of Iberia was a great church dignitary, iconographer, master of decorations, establisher of printing houses, writer, scholar and politician. A little boy kidnapped from Georgia and sold at the slave market had become the metropolitan of Romania and a holy father of Romanian people. In 1992 Anthimus of Iberia was canonized by the Church.
