The main characters of the film are victims of recent war who have been lost in a multimillion city. A series of murders are being committed in this megapolis. Investigation gradually lets Kolya Vorontsov, student of the Law Faculty, trace the sniper- murderer. Th is is Victor Aleshin, former teacher of the Russian language and literature at Chechen School. Having lost a pregnant Chechen wife during the bombardment of Grozno he converted to Islam and took the side of the Chechen boyeviks... This is the war which demands newer and newer victims.
