Before his retirement the old postman Giorgi goes about the neighborhood for the last time to introduce his substitute, a young girl Lamara. Giorgi and Lamara go through many adventures while going from door to door. They manage to atone fighting man and wife, encounter a burglar and put him on the honest way of life, assist a pregnant woman… In one of the flats Lamara meets her lover who chastises her for her decision to become a post worker. Lamara gets carried away and throws the mailbag out However, she soon becomes aware that every job done with honor is respectable.
