Steshnov, the first cornet in the Russian Tsar’s military orchestra is under colonel Garaburda and serves him as his right hand man trying to ignore his master’s robust character. He’s not politically minded person, but one day when he finds out about his master’s decision to take part in the annihilation of his, Streshnov’s son’s regiment he informs the latter about Garaburda’s plans and joins the revolution.
