Jondo is in love with Natela, Utu Mikava’s sister. For defending the serfs building prince Dadiani’s palace, Jondo is thrown to jail. Natela is sold to Omar-Pasha’s harem. With the leadership of Utu Mikava peasant’s riot breaks up in Mengralia in 1857. Natela escapes from Omar-Pasha’s harem, sets free captured Jondo and joins the rebels. The riot is quelled. Utu, Jondo and other organizers of the riot are sent to Siberia
