Makhvala who is forcibly married to the King’s guard Mgeladze, can- not but forget her lover Onise and runs away from her husband. But following the tradition, Makhvala is brought back home. One day Gela finds Onise in his house and wounds him. The tribe puts the threesome on trial and expels them from the area. Almost freezing to death, Makhvala find shelter in the pastor Onopre’s house. Soon Makhvala is found dead. Onopre is accused of the murder and gets sent to Siberia. Soon after that, Onise confesses that it was him who killed Makhvala. Gela stabs him to death but the family kills him as well. Onopre is acquitted, but it’s too late. Onopre dies in Siberia.
